Luke's Big Green Tractor

I kind of forgot about this video. Emma asked me today if she could watch Luke's Big Green Tractor video. So here it is. It makes me smile... and I can't get over how much he's grown up since this video in October of 2009. He can still sing the song though! :)

Hope

God brought me to this scripture today and I admit I really needed to hear it. I think it is one that everyone needs to hear.

And now, Lord, for what do I wait?
My hope is in You.
(Psalm 39:7)

After reading this scripture I immediately thought of this beautiful song, Kristian Stanfill's Day after Day.

Maybe you too needed to hear this today, maybe not, but I hope you still enjoy it!

Have a wonderful day today and remember to put your hope in the Lord each day. Try to forgot about the other more "worldly" things that often get in the way or make us forget our true purpose. I try to each day.

I'm a big kid now!

Emma has been potty trained with very rare accidents... even at night since the beginning of July. Today, after I got out of the shower she came into my bathroom wearing nothing but a pull-up. We have one pull-up in our house that Emma likes to put on her baby dolls. I asked her why she was wearing a pull-up and not her underwear and she explained, "That commercial says that big kids wear pull-ups and I'm a big kid." I went on to explain to her that even bigger kids wear panties, but she didn't want to hear that. So... my child who has been potty trained for months is running around in a pull-up today. I think the pull-up commercial worked in reverse for her!! She was already a "big kid." :) Let's just hope she doesn't pee in it!! HAHA! :) Funny girl.

Luke's 100th Day of School

Well my little Mr. Luke is officially 100 days smarter. His 100th day of Kindergarten was on Tuesday February, 8th. For his 100th day he had to to bring in a collection of 100 things or something that would help the class count to 100. Well obviously Luke wanted to do something with trees and flowers. So he made a tree with 100 leaves. The tree is complete with a squirrel in a hole. He first said he wanted it to be an Oak tree, then he said the leaves looked more like a Honey Locust. But, the he explained to me that a Honey Locust wouldn't get that big. So I think he finally decided that it was a Sawtooth Oak. :) He also wanted to wear his tree shirt for his presentation. Love my boy.

He had a great 100th day of school party and presentation.

Luke lost his first tooth!!

Luke lost his first tooth last night!! It has been loose for over a week now and he has been anxiously waiting for it to fall out. Last night as he was getting ready for bed, Andy decided to get some dental floss and try to pull it out. It was just barely hanging on, but after trying a few times Luke started whining and didn't want him to do it anymore. So, we went on with our bedtime routine. As Andy was reading a story Luke screamed, "My tooth just fell out!" It fell in his bed, so we kind of had to look for it, but we found it. After it fell out Luke tried to put it back in because he said that it "felt weird without it in."
Luke was very concerned that the tooth fairy was going to take his tooth and he has a special box for his first tooth, so he wanted to write her a note to make sure she would leave it. Here's the note in Luke's best Kid Writing...
It says--- Dear Tooth Fairy will you please leave my tooth. Thanks, Luke (love it) :)

The tooth fairy left him $5 for his first tooth! I promise she won't be so generous with the next ones though!! :)

It was such an exciting moment for my sweet little boy to lose his first tooth. He is growing up way to fast!!

This Is The Stuff

This is the stuff that drives me crazy-

1. All these cloudy days in a row.
2. People who constantly peck on their cell phones while someone is trying to talk to them. (in particular seeing kids peck on them)
3. Certain people that don't see how amazing and wonderful my husband is or appreciate what he does for them. I love that guy! :)
4. Negative people that try to bring you down with them.
5. Super competitive parents.
6. Bad drivers.
7. The carpet in our living room... it's awful and needs to be replaced. It drives me crazy every day.
8. The "feature" on our van that automatically locks the car when you shut the doors.
9. Emma's silver shoe that's been missing for months.... I mean it has to be in this house SOMEWHERE?!?!
10. Men who objectify women and women who let them do it.
11. My pasty skin (vain I know) but I do miss my tan.
12. BUDGETING!
13. The fact that Wells Fargo won't let go of the Lone Oak Drive house!

Though all these things drive me crazy, I know God is giving them to me to help make me a stronger and better person as well as to help me help others. I am learning to not let these things bother me and remember how God has truly blessed me in life. When I see these things starting to "get under my skin," I try to give them to God right in that moment.

And thank you, Francesca Basttistelli for this wonderfully catchy song!! I love it and its message.
